Born on April 30, 1934, in Cartersville, he was the son of the late Virgel Lee and the late Mzillie Cothern Lee. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy Lee, William “Bill” Lee, and Marvin Lee.
Calvin was a loving husband to Rosa Dickson Lee to whom he was married for 64 years. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Sherry Lee; grandchildren, Nicholas Lee (Jesica), Scott Johnson (Mary), Leann Rogers (John) and Adrienne Cochran (Dustin). He cherished his great granddaughters, Abigail Lee, Amelia Cochran, Kaitlin Rogers and Olivia Lee. His brothers, Earl Lee and C.H. Lee also survive.
Calvin loved his family. He cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Eating ice cream cones, taking strolls to the end of the road and treasure hunting were some of his favorite things to do with them. He got to meet his youngest grandchild just once before he died and although she will not remember him, there will be plenty of memories to share with her.
Calvin enjoyed gardening, always planting more than he needed just to share with friends and family. Calvin was an operating engineer and a member of IUOE Local 926 for 54 years. Over the years, he worked on construction projects at Georgia Power's Plant Bowen, Plant Sherer, and Plant Hammonds. He also helped in the construction of Nottley Damn in Blairsville, Georgia and with the construction of the Anheuser Busch facility in Cartersville, Georgia. He tried to help anyone who asked. He had a passion for tinkering with things and if you couldn't fix it, Calvin could.
Calvin made hundreds of friends over his life time. Calvin is missed by all who knew him.
